Paradyskloof's evening downdraught doesn't behave like an open-ground breeze — it funnels through the kloof and arrives with less warning, gusting harder in the channel between the mountain and the built-up slope than the forecast for greater Stellenbosch would suggest. A screen that isn't captive on both edges works loose exactly when you need it most; the zip is what keeps a covered deck usable through that.

- Clear PVC or crystal panels for a wind-and-rain-proof winter enclosure that keeps the outlook intact.

Practical notes
Motorised as standard on any span worth calling a terrace enclosure, with a wind sensor that retracts the screen before a gust does the work for you. Channels are colour-matched to the structure, and spans run to the wide end of the market — a full deck enclosure across several openings is one project, one remote.
Honest limits
A zip screen manages wind, sun and insects; it isn't a structural wall and won't stop determined rain driving in sideways the way a solid enclosure would. For a deck that needs to double as an all-weather room through a Cape winter, clear PVC panels get closest, but we'll say plainly at the measure if a fully enclosed structure would serve you better.
